CAMPUS

Nestled in a forested valley extending into endless woods, hidden away through a temporal rift is the private castle campus of Briar Ridge University. This esteemed university focuses in on being a sanctuary and educator of 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐛𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬. Briar Ridge encouraged peace and integration between human and supernatural beings.

These educators dedicate their time to ensuring that students are capable of controlling their abilities and learning whatever they need to live their lives outside of the academy as any regular human would do if that is their goal. The Headmaster of the academy is an unknown figure, seen and heard by no single member of the student body or faculty.

THE BARRIER

Surrounding the campus is an unseen magical barrier that refuses to allow entry to any being with bad intentions, be it human or supernatural. This protection also works from within as any student who may suddenly be filled with the intention to knowingly and purposefully harm another will be ejected to the outside of the barrier into the woods.

The Barrier is always active and invisible to the naked eye until touched or crossed through. From the outside, The Barrier makes Briar Ridge Castle looks as though it has been abandoned since the castle’s original inception, far before the University had taken over.

THE Lake & WATERWAYS

The campus itself is nestled deep within thick woods, the castle sits overlooking the expanse of Serpent Lake. Deep within the woods far from the main campus the local rivers connect back to the lake, no matter which way you enter Briar water must be crossed wither in form of the river or the lake. The campus hosts many waterways, allowing for students of the aquatic variety to have access to the University.

Serpent Lake is approximately 327 miles² (847 km²). The name of the lake predates the school, as legend suggests that a great serpent exists in the depths of the lake. No such creature has ever been found, and no merfolk student has ever reported such sightings yet the rumor tends to still make its rounds.
